We are searching for full time nurses (RNs) to work in a Correctional facility in Virginia. This contract will bring your career both financial and professional rewards.  

Details:

Start date: 2-3 weeks due to clearance and onboarding for the DOC

Setting: Correctional Facility

Contract: Hourly wage

Location: 

MD Jails: Jessup, Baltimore, Hagerstown, Cumberland;

VA Jail: Prince Georges County

DC Jails

1. Provide direct and indirect nursing care to inmates / patients under the direction of the supervising registered nurse and correctional facility
2. Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers; takes independent action within professional preparation and legal limits to maintain order
3. Supervise the conduct of inmates / patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property
4. Plan and implement nursing care including administration of medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, disease preventions and restorative measures ordered by a physician
5. Assists physicians with medical and / or minor surgical procedures
6. Perform assessments and ongoing monitoring of inmate / patient physical and psychosocial status
7. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care and treatment regimen; collaborate with physicians and other health care providers
8. Provide clinical supervision of other nursing staff to ensure quality patient care; document nursing care in medical records
9. Ensure safety of inmates / patients by monitoring work areas for safety and cleanliness
10. Administer first aid in emergencies

CREDENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE:

1. Valid Registered Nurse – RN License
2. 1 year of RN experience within the last 2 years
3. Must be eligible to work in the United States
4. BLS (Basic Life Support) issued American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Please note typical RN (Registered Nurse) / LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) / Allied Health contracts are 13 weeks in length with possible extension. Specific details regarding compensation, patient population / unit details, experience requirements, float requirements, scheduling, weekends, holidays, and call are available upon request.
